Getting started

Sync across your devices

Keep today's thing and your record the same on your phone, iPad and watch.

Everything you do in Halden is stored on your phone first, so the app works offline and opens instantly. With Pro, the same thing, focus sessions and record also follow you to your other devices.

Turn on sync

  1. On your phone, go to Settings, then Account, and sign in with your email.
  2. Tap Sync and switch it on.
  3. Sign in with the same email on your iPad or Android tablet. Your record appears within a few seconds.

Apple Watch does not need its own sign in: it picks up today’s thing from the iPhone it is paired with.

What syncs

  • Today’s thing and tomorrow’s, if you have already picked it
  • Small steps under each thing
  • Focus sessions, including one that is running right now
  • Your full record of done days

Settings such as the reminder time stay on each device, so you can be reminded on your phone and not on your iPad.

When sync is slow

Check that each device is online and signed in to the same email under Settings, then Account. Pull down on Today to refresh. If a change still does not show, sign out on the device that is behind and sign in again: nothing is lost, because your record is also kept on your phone.

Two devices, two different things

If you edit today’s thing on two devices while one of them is offline, Halden keeps the most recent edit and shows the other one under Settings, then Sync history, so you can bring it back with one tap.
