Start a focus session
Give today's thing a timed block of attention and keep your phone out of the way.
A focus session is a timed block for today’s thing and nothing else. Halden counts down, keeps the session on your lock screen and logs the time against the day, so your record shows not only what got done but how much attention it took.
Start a session
- On Today, tap your thing and choose Focus.
- Pick a length. The free plan offers 25 minutes; Pro lets you choose anything from 10 to 90.
- Put the phone face down. The timer keeps running on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island.
When the time is up, Halden plays one soft sound and asks whether the thing is done. Tap Done to mark the day, or Not yet to keep going later.
Pause, stop or extend
Tap the timer on the lock screen to pause. A paused session waits for up to an hour before it ends on its own. To stop early, open Halden and tap End session: the minutes you spent still count. To add time, tap Plus 10 before the timer reaches zero.
Focus from your watch
On Apple Watch, open Halden and tap the thing to start a session with your usual length. The watch taps your wrist when the time is up, so the phone can stay in another room.
Where your focus time shows up
Every session is added to the day on your record. Tap any day to see how many sessions it took and how long each one ran. Pro keeps that detail for every month; the free plan keeps the current month.
